We offer an online Seminary for those who feel a calling or vocation to the Orders of Priesthood. The training we offer provides this education, and also incorporates the Orders themselves, so that upon completion of the required Courses for an Order will provide eligibility for the postulant to be ordained to that Order.
We are very aware of the time constraints limiting people who have full-time jobs, and who are doing this as a calling, rather than a professional career. For that reason, we have streamlined the Orders from the original eight to four, being Healer/Exorcist, Acolyte, Deacon and Priest. However, this is not a “degree mill.” We expect each course will take at least a month of serious part-time focus, and that means each Order will be completed over a period of approximately six months. Courses will involve reading, taking notes, discussions, practical exercises completing reports and writing essays.
There is a charge for each of the courses to meet the Church’s tax responsibilities, allow for developmental work and to cover the time taken by the tutors in communicating with students, marking papers, etc. However, the costs are a fraction of what would be required to attend a full-time seminary, not least because we do not need to maintain a campus or pay full-time staff. It is hoped that this hybrid approach will prove attractive to those who wish to deepen their knowledge of Christianity without committing themselves to three full-time years at college.
In the same way that Martinism is not merely an armchair reading course, but rather, an empowerment to follow a practical Path to Reintegration by means of the Way of the Heart, so the Seminary offers the opportunity to both deepen one’s understanding of the Scriptures and their meaning, and undertake practical exercises intended to build one’s confidence as a practicing Priest. It also encourages the virtue of service to the community; for whether one decides to pursue a public priesthood offering regular worship at an address within your neighborhood, or to follow a more Hermetic or meditational role offering healing and other sacramental services when called upon, a proper understanding of the source and purpose of our rituals and practices is essential to their effective performance.
